Ruth Lincoln

Ruth has been practicing t’ai chi and meditation for over three decades and was delighted to discover yoga could allow her to better commit to stillness in meditation. Complementing other contemplative practices, Ruth appreciates that yoga helps to stay present and to feel connected to body, breath, other beings, and the universe. Her greatest joy comes when she can help students experience the magic of the present moment. Her passion is to share these joys with children. Completing the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Bethel Farm in New Hampshire, Ruth is deeply grateful for the rigorous instruction she received there and the instruction she continues to receive in Rhode Island. This year she will complete a specialized yoga training through Yoga Kids to complete her Children’s yoga teacher certification. Ruth holds degrees in Psychology and in Nursing from Rhode Island College and has always been interested in the mind/body connection. Ruth works as a nurse in East Providence schools. She previously owned and operated an afterschool learning center called Kumon for 11 years. She strives to embed meditation, comprehensive sequencing, all learning modalities, and especially fun in all of her classes, and hopes to share both the art and science of these contemplative practices with children and teens.
