Julia Walderzak, Owner

Screen Shot 2013-04-21 at 9.18.35 PMJulia Walderzak grew up struggling with childhood obesity and understood the detrimental effects it has both physically and emotionally on a child. Not being one for competitive sports she tried alternative ways to stay physically fit. Throughout her youth she managed to shed the extra weight and shortly after she graduated college she received a 4th degree red belt in Tai Kwon Do. Now she maintains a very healthy lifestyle through circuit training, yoga and has received her certifications in Zumba and Zumbatomic. Julia received a BFA in Theatre Performance at Hofstra University. She continued her graduate Education at NYU studying Event Management and went on to produce specialty events including; Product Launches, Corporate Events, Editor Events, Book Signings, Charity Events and Special Occasion Parties.  With the opening of H2K Julia is combining her passion for events and fitness while addressing a critical need in the community. H2K will help battle childhood obesity, instill fitness values at an early age and encourage already fit families to stay fit and have fun.

Zumba Kids Junior

Zumba Kids junior combines fast and slow rhythms for children ages 4-7 yrs using an aerobic/fitness approach. With a combination of dance, games, and peer performance your child will learn leadership, respect, team work, pride, confidence, responsibility, cordination, balance, and be able to express their inner creativity.

Teeny Tiny Yogis

Join us for our amazing Teeny Tiny Yogis class. This class is designed to guide your baby through yoga poses to help with body development and to help soothe the baby. Your Teeny Tiny Yogi will lie mostly on their back, stomach and in the arms of their Yogi Mommy. This class will provide an amazing bonding experience with mom and baby. Feel free to relax with other moms in our lounge after class.

Young Yogis

Young Yogis ages 6-9 is a fun & energetic yoga class created specifically for this age group. Through a combination of games and a yoga “flow”, children will be brought through a wide range of yoga postures while learning about the importance of breathing and the principles of yoga. Each 45 minute session will integrate movement, journaling, relaxation and time for sharing.

Yogis

Yogis grades 6-8 is a fun and energetic yoga class, tailored for the Middle School student. Students will be brought through a wide range of yoga postures while learning about the importance of breathing and the principles of yoga. Partner poses and stress reduction techniques will be the focus of the class. Each 60 minute session will integrate movement, journaling, relaxation and time for sharing.

Teen Kickboxing

This fun and energetic  class is designed specifically for young adults. While it is still as challenging as an adult Kickboxing class, the music is upbeat, hip and specifically selected to create a unique and dynamic atmosphere. Teens will learn self-defense, self-confidence and also learn the benefits of meditation.

Active Soles 18 Months to 5 yrs

Active soles is a movement and music program for children to increase their appetite for physical fitness and music. Each 45 minute session is a tailored lesson plan for each specific age level and enhances cognitive development, gross motor and fine motor skills. Fitness, music, obstacle courses, dance, brain, gym and more!!

Zumba Kids

Zumba Kids combines fast and slow rhythms for children ages 8-12 yrs using an aerobic/fitness approach. With a combination of dance, games, and peer performance your child will learn leadership, respect, team work, pride, confidence, responsibility, cordination, balance, and be able to express their inner creativity.

Teen Zumba

Teen Zumba Fitness Party combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic/fitness approach to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits. Teens are in a safe, fun environment and don’t have to worry about dancing in the same class as their moms!

CCOF-Cardio, Circuit, Obstacles, Fun!

CCOF is a new and unique way for children to learn team building exercises and skills. Through obstacle courses, mini circuit training, and all kinds of games, there will be a little something for everyone. Kids will build self-confidence and endurance. At the end of each class, each child will be responsible for updating their weekly exercise chart and are encouraged to meet fitness goals.

Cardio Kids Fit Hip Hop

Kids Fit Hip Hop combines fast and slow rhythms for children ages 4-7 yrs using an aerobic/fitness approach. With a combination of dance, games, and journaling your child will begin their fitness journey with basic creative movement. They will learn leadership, respect, team work, confidence, coordination, balance, and be able to express their inner creativity.

H2K Summer Boot Camp Challenge

Whether you are looking to shed a few pounds and build lean muscle or simply change up your workout routine, this class is for you! This is an interval class that mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. You will be challenged in a fun and new way every class. You will also be provided with information about nutrition that will help you improve your health and body composition. This is a high-intensity class designed to challenge participants of all fitness levels and will help you reach your fitness goals!

Zumba

Zumba Fitness Party combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic/fitness approach to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits.

Mommy and Baby Yoga

Moms can stretch their body with their baby in front of them. Moms are free to feed their baby, change their diapers or comfort them during the class. Moms are encouraged and guided to involve the baby during the class. Moms are taught a variety of stretches which can be used while feeding.

Family and Me Yoga Junior

Partner with your little one for animated yoga poses, games, music and breathing exercises that help to strengthen coordination and build body awareness. This fun class is a great opportunity for bonding with your child while strengthening their growing muscles and yours!! This class is perfect for moms or dads.

Family and Me Yoga

Just like our Family and Me Yoga junior you will explore a variety of poses with your child in a fun and safe environment. This class is geared towards older children, ages 7 and up. Come experience an amazing work while giving the gift of fitness to your child. This class is perfect for moms or dads.

Candlelight Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a still and cooling practice. Start by stretching just the right amount and then relax into the pose. It’s a perfect complement to other forms of dynamic yoga. It increases range of motion, detoxifies and keeps joints moist and supple. Relax in our beautiful studio by candlelight.

Kickboxing

Mix up your routine with strength-building moves in kickboxing classes. You’ll enjoy high-intensity drills while burning 300-600 calories. A cardiovascular workout consisting of jabs, hooks, uppercuts and kicks designed to get you on your way to a leaner body and a healthier state of mind. No equipment is used and gloves are not required.

Baby Weight- Use it to Lose it

Get a full body toning workout while your baby has fun. Your baby safely serves as your weight. As you progress your baby gets heavier and you get stronger! A great bonding experience as your baby is lifted and kissed and cuddled while you sweat away and improve your body!

Michelle Ormes

Ormes-10Michelle Ormes has been a passionate practitioner of yoga for more than 12 years and is a certified yoga teacher for both children and adults. She believes in the power of yoga to transform your life and to give all ages the tools they need to be strong, relax and thrive. She is passionate about empowering children to feel confident in their bodies and to recognize their unique and beautiful gifts. As a mother of two young boys, she brings her nurturing personality and love of fun to every class!

Shari Solomon

Shari Solomon 22Shari RYT 200hr, completed her hatha yoga training at Yoga For Life with Abby Schwab and yin yoga training with Josh Summers. She has been practicing and receiving the benefits of yoga since 2000 and meditation since 1978. Shari is also the founder of Cocoa Plum Nutrition.

Julia Walderzak

She knew the importance of exercise combined with healthy eating habits would optimize her life both emotionally and physically. She went on to receive her 4th degree red belt in Tai Kwan Do and won 2 gold medals in sparing and 2 gold medals in form. She later received her certification in Zumba, Zumbatomic (Kids Zumba), radiant child yoga, and is an AFAA certified Kickboxing instructor. Julia believes that no matter what stage you are in life it’s never too late to change your habits into healthy ones.

Katherine Bright

katherine bright headshotKatherine graduated from Boston University with a Masters of Education in Coaching Principles and Sports Psychology and received her Bachelors in Psychology at Wheaton College. Katherine is NASM– Certified Personal Trainer, Pre/Post Natal Exercise Certified, and a USA Track & Field Level I & II Jumps and Combined Events Coach. When Katherine is not training clients, she can be found playing with her energetic son, running with him in a jogging stroller, and working out with her husband. KATHERINE’S CREDENTIALS: National Academy of Sports Medicine- Personal Trainer, American Council of Exercise– Pre/Post Natal Exercise Certified, 2010 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III, Indoor Track & Field Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year, NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy, Olympic Training Center.

Kaitlin Gray

kg bio picKaitlin graduated from Lyndon State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and minored in Athletic Coaching. Kaitlin has over 4 years of experience in the health fitness industry. While she attends to the administrative duties at H2K, Kaitlin is also a certified personal trainer! Kaitlin is very enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge and experience with others to help them reach their personal health and fitness goals!

Dance and Kick it a like a Rock Star!

Join H2K this summer for our super fun and fit summer drop-off weeks.

Young Yogis Summer Party!
Have your little one join us every day for a new magical yoga adventure! We will travel the world with poses, breath work and games. Each morning we will begin our journey with mediation, followed by a 45 min yoga adventure. We will break to eat a healthy and yummy snack. We will close our party with fun games and a craft related to our yoga adventure.

Yogis Summer Party!
This summer party is specifically designed for your older yogi. Each afternoon will begin with meditation followed by a 60 min yoga class. The yoga class will include breath work, partner poses, and fun yoga games. We will break to eat a healthy and yummy snack. We will close our party with a different creative activity every day. Journaling, painting and photography to name a few!

Little Kids Kickboxing Summer Party!
Have your little one join us for the best kick class around! Each morning will begin with mediation followed by a super fun 45 min kickboxing class. During class, your child will learn self-defense, discipline and get an awesome workout. After class we will have a healthy and yummy snack, play games and close the afternoon with a craft and meditation.

Cardio Kickboxing Summer Party!
Join this summer party for the best summer work out! Each afternoon will begin with meditation followed by a 60 min Kickboxing class. During class, each student will learn self-defense, discipline, and kickboxing combinations that range from beginners to advance. Each class will have partner drills and obstacle courses. We will break for a healthy and yummy snack and spend the rest of the afternoon working on a creative activity related to heath and mind body awareness.

Scrapbooking End of Summer Party!
Remember all your vacation fun by scrapbooking it in a mini-album made by you. Learn basic scrapbooking techniques and ways to make your vacation photos the star of the show! Please bring 15-20 photos and glue runners with refills (These can be purchased at Michael’s or AC Moore). All the other supplies will be supplied by H2K!

“I just recently started attending H2K Happy Healthy Kids Fitness Studio and I am in love! Don’t be deceived by the word ‘Kids’ because this fitness studio offers adult classes too! I have attended several kickboxing classes with Julia (the owner) as the instructor and she is fabulous! The kickboxing class is designed in a way that ensures you are getting in a great workout, but while having lots of fun along the way. Julia brings great positivity and energy to her classes while being mindful of building your confidence and offering lots of encouragement. Julia also offers variety in her classes, which I love because this gives me something to look forward to, while learning something new each time. While some gyms and fitness studios tend to become a bit “clicky” this studio is far from it.
